Katalyst is to my mind one of – if not the – most interesting artist in Australian hip-hop today. Having said that, his sound goes well beyond what that label may conjure up, creating something truly original distilled through the lens of soul, funk, reggae, electro and jazz. His clever use of samples always keeps things fresh, as does his choice of collaborators. He knows what he’s doing, and it shows.
