As songwriter/singer/guitarist with alt-country band The Jayhawks, Louris took them from their country beginnings with collaborator Mark Olsen to the more pop influenced later albums of their 20-year career. It seems that for his first solo release Louris embraces both styles while familiarising us with his evocative lyrics and wonderful vocals. Lyrics that sound more mature and personal though, than any he has given us in the past. As a huge fan of The Jayhawks, I am born anew and recommend this to all who love great music.
