Songs of Mass Destruction

Some may think four years between albums is way too long, but Annie Lennox has never been one to rush things. Putting family first, she has taken her time to compose all of the 11 tracks with incredible attention to detail and the result is truly remarkable. That singular vocal styal is so strong and earnest in what is essentially a collection of dark love songs, full of poignant and intimate lyrics with complex and lush arrangements to support their sincerity. This is an album with moments of her social conscience laid out bare for all to hear and perhaps even inspire the listener to get angry about the complacency of those in charge… the album title gives us a clue. Well worth the wait!
