Roar: Emma Clayton

It is the future and things are bleak. London has been walled in to keep out vicious, plague-ridden animals on the loose in the world outside. Twelve-year old twins, Mika and Ellie have been separated by sinister government forces and both have to literally ‘play the game’ to reunite. This game is called pod fighter – a game being used to train children unwittingly for a terrible destiny. This book has it all. Great characters, in-depth themes and enough action to make your head spin. Most importantly, I could not put it down. Somehow, Clayton makes everything in her book seem terribly believable. Recommended for ages 12 plus.
