Presto Change-o! by Édouard Manceau
French artist Édouard Manceau has had a lot of fun playing with simple, cut-out cardboard shapes to work a little visual magic. Turn the shapes on each page to change his clear, exuberant illustrations of simple objects into animals. See how easy it is to turn a salad bowl into a turtle, a hot-air balloon into a rabbit, a teapot into an elephant or, my favourite, a pot into a racoon.
My four-year-old granddaughter and I had lots of fun with this book, ignoring the rather flowery text translated from the French and laughing over the silly but satisfying changes.
