My Foolish Heart

2001 Montreux Jazz Festival set from the top piano trio in jazz, and their most energetic, uplifting offering in quite a while. This time, the trademark reinventions of tin pan alley standards cohabit with more up-tempo bop tunes from Miles, Monk and Rollins, plus ragtime gems from Fats Waller. As always, the interaction with Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette is suggestive of one organic unit rather than three musicians. Recorded as Jarrett was emerging from his career-threatening chronic fatigue problem, he plays like a new man.
