This is the second full-length recording from Melbourne-based low-flute specialist Peter Sheridan. As he branches out into more evocative musical landscapes than on his previous album, I am again impressed by the different styles of repertoire tackled by this musician, who is proving that there is no such thing as a forgotten instrument. He performs overlaid flutes, piano and electronics. And hearing the alto, bass and contrabass flutes in the hands of a master, you’ll be pleasantly surprised how enjoyable this recording is.
