This excellent box-set celebrating 30 years of Chandos recordings is a must for anyone who enjoys fine music.

Packaged in a limited collectors’ edition, this set features such Australian artists as Yvonne Kenny, Charles Mackerras, guitarist Craig Ogden and British greats such as Emma Kirkby, Nigel Kennedy, Bryn Terfel, Richard Hickox and many more.

There are 30 CDs in the set and all are complete albums as released by Chandos. Highlights for me are the Shostakovich Violin Concertos as played by Lydia Mordkovitch and Vaughan Williams’ London Symphony conducted by Richard Hickox. There are almost 35 hours of music here, all beautifully performed and recorded.
