About a year ago I began to notice the consistency with which I was being asked a certain question: Have you seen Little Red? I eventually did, several times, and they rocked. So, having forged for themselves a formidable reputation as a live act, Little Red have finally delivered what must surely be one of the most keenly anticipated local debuts in some time.

And what a little red belter it is! Not ones to hide their influences, the band’s sound is drowned in joyous sixties beat pop, jangly guitars and a good measure of doo- woppy harmonies, all of which makes for a record so infectious it’s almost criminal.

From the irresistible hip shakin’ opener Coca Cola and the sleek grove of Witchdoctor, it’s clear that these boys are here to have a blast. It ain’t reinventing the wheel, it’s just a great pop record. Get out and see them.
