It’s practically impossible to do justice to the music of the nation’s finest band in a mere 80 words or so.

I See Seaweed is The Drones’ first record in more than four years, making it something of an event. This time round they’ve expanded their sound to include some stellar keyboard work from Steve Hesketh, but all the elements that make this band so immediate, so electrifying and deservedly revered are firmly in place. The ferocious attack of Gareth Liddiard’s brutally poetic lyrics have never sounded so vitriolic.

Their best record yet? It might just be.
