I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too: Martha Wainwright

Martha Wainwright stepped out from the shadow of her famous family members in 2005 with her raw self-titled debut album. Over 200 fans enjoyed one of our best in store events with Martha later that year in an almost unrecognisable Readings Carlton. The bookshelves were pushed aside and the shop morphed into a rockin’ music venue. It was always intriguing to know how Martha could follow this masterpiece, however her superbly titled second album I Know You’re Married But Ive Got Feelings Too certainly doesn’t disappoint. The album contains 12 originals (including a version of Leonard Cohen’s Tower Song and two covers: See Emily Play [Pink Floyd] and Love Is A Stranger [Eurythmics]. It features contributions from Pete Townshend, Donald Fagen (Steely Dan), Garth Hudson (The Band) and various relatives (brother Rufus and mother Kate McGarrigle among others – with the notable exclusion of her father Loudon). Martha Wainwright has done it again with another brilliant ballsy album!
