Good Dog Bad Dog: Double Identity by Dave Shelton

This is a funny and very clever hardboiled-style graphic novel about a pair of dog detectives trying to solve a murder-mystery at ‘Wiener Brothers’ movie studios in ‘Collie-wood’. While the dog detectives are investigating threatening letters sent to one of the studio’s stars, a fatal explosion on-set kicks off a plot that will keep readers guessing til the final pages.

It’s a classic buddy-cop set-up: Bergman delivers dry wit while his goofy, slacker sidekick McBoo brings the antics. There are amusing puns and visual gags on every page. Readers aged from 9 and up will enjoy this hilarious and sharp mystery. It’s also a really fun option for reluctant readers in their teens and comics fans of all ages.
