Electric by Richard Thompson
Richard Thompson, the great British guitarist who made his debut in the late 60s with seminal British folk group Fairport Convention, has released his umpteenth solo album under the watchful guidance of Buddy Miller (who has worked with the likes of Robert Plant, Solomon Burke and Emmylou Harris).
Recording as an electric trio with drummer Michael Jerome and bassist Taras Prodaniuk, this is Thompson in his true form. His playing has always been impressive and he is accompanied here on vocals by the sublime Alison Krauss on the track ‘Snow Goose’. This is a great, scintillating record, brilliantly crafted.
