A head full of rain and a heart full of puddles: Clinkerfield

Heroes of the Melbourne live music scene Clinkerfield have finally put together their first full-length studio album, and it’s been worth the wait. The album captures the rawness of the live shows, but also shows the more seldom-seen sensitivity of the band’s enigmatic front man, Jimmy Stewart. While one is reminded of current Aussie darlings The Drones, with perhaps a hint of Tom Waits thrown in for good measure, Clinkerfield have done a great job in reproducing what has made them so endearing to live audiences over the years – a distinctly original, distinctly Australian sound.
