Young Children and Spirituality
Barbara Kimes Myers
In the belief that spiritual development is a crucial component to child development the author of this text has constructed a framework for the secular discussion of spirituality. Attempting to illustrate how curricula may be informed and developed based on a spirituality of caring, she makes a key point of contextualizing the role of spirituality within contemporary concerns about violence and individual and collective rights. This theoretical framework is informed by key child development theorist - Vygotsky, Piaget, Giroux, Erikson and Noddings.
