123 Turtles and Geckos: A Counting Book for Kids

N. Yunupinu, Siena Mayutu Wurmarri Stubbs

In 123 Turtles and Geckos, a bilingual counting book for kids, Yolηu artist Nyapanyapa Yunupiηu and her granddaughter Siena Mayutu Wurmarri Stubbs take young readers on a counting adventure across Country.

Children will learn to count from one to five, spotting animals of Arnhem Land and learning Yolηu Matha, the language of the Yolηu people, along the way.

With a simple narrative and colourful illustrations celebrating the artist’s distinctive works, this  bilingual board book introduces young children to numbers up to five and makes counting fun. This book will engage and delight babies and toddlers, as well as parents and carers.

This book is a collaboration between Buku-Larrηgay Mulka Centre and the National Gallery of Victoria.
