In the tradition of iconic female Australian illustrators such as Peg Maltby and May Gibbs, Snaith has created a new artwork for Readings using her unique cut paper collage style.

Snaith herself says ‘as a kid I would always imagine the private lives of all the tiny creatures I found in the bush, what they liked to do and read and even wear. Here I imagine a brand new location opened by Readings (where I myself worked for many years) under the biggest, plumpest toadstool in town. Skinks, snails, slaters, butterflies, grasshoppers, worms and Fairy Wrens are all at the grand opening. Everyone Welcome! Long live books and bugs!‘
