Martha Marlow’s long awaited debut album Medicine Man is finally here!

Her all original compositions were recorded with a 17 piece string ensemble, lead by Veronique Serret (SS0, ACO, Ensemble Offspring) and conducted by Daniel Denholm (Producer of Tim Minchin, Megan Washington, Frente).
The orchestrations were written by Aria award winner Jonathan Zwartz, and the album features some of Australia’s finest musicians (Hamish Stuart, Ben Hauptmann, Barney McAll, Clayton Doley, Julien Wilson).
Medicine Man was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winner Helik Hadar (Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, Madeleine Peyroux).

Depending on who you speak with, Martha Marlow is either an established painter, or one of the most alluring young singer/songwriters in Australia. Growing up in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs, surrounded by a family of musicians, Martha Marlow forged her way into music via an unlikely path; her love of books. After burning through classic works from Emily Dickinson, Tolstoy and musically; the back catalogues of Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Joni Mitchell and the Beatles, Marlow began crafting her own original works.

In 2015, Martha recorded her unique and evocative vocal and acoustic guitar version of Randy Newman’s ‘It Feels Like Home’ for the QANTAS campaign. Her authenticity was noted by Randy Newman himself. Saying that ‚'She meant it, and made other people feel it.‘ Inspired by fellow Australians like Julia Jacklin, Gurrumul, Didirri and Angie McMahon as well as acts including Weyes Blood, Lana Del Rey and Phoebe Bridgers, Martha Marlow crafts her original songs that are filled with vulnerability and hope.
