After pianist Víkingur Ólafsson was named Artisy of the Year at the 2019 Gramophone Awards Deutsche Grammophon decided to release J.S. Bach: Works and Reworks, a deluxe version of his two previous virtuosic Bach recordings.

These feature Ólafsson playing both Bach transcriptions and modern reimaginings of Bach’s music by comtemporary composers. The repertoire is vast, but Ólafsson’s performances are consistently thrilling.
