Get Real: 4 Steps to Building Generational Wealth Through Real Estate

Ron Elliott Jr

Real estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. Purchased with common sense, paid for in full, and managed with reasonable care, it is about the safest investment in the world. -Franklin D. Roosevelt If I knew then, what I knew now… As a mature adult, this statement is likely to touch your lips from time to time. Life is a cycle. And in the cycle of life, there are patterns that repeat themselves throughout each generation. In the case for most Americans, especially Americans of African descent, one of those patterns is the lack of financial education. We cannot teach what we do not know, right? Have you ever been to the doctor and they ask you for your family history? Do you have diabetes? High blood pressure? Oh, it runs in your family? Do you know why? HABITS! You did not genetically inherit those diseases (unless your diabetes is Type 1). Your habits, specifically the habits that you have inherited from the previous generations, dictated your illness. GET REAL is a simple, straight to the point guide to get you on the path to developing the habits of the wealthy, and provides you with a few practical methods to begin building generational wealth through real estate. I promise to not overload you, but simply to enlighten and encourage you to put a few simple practices in place that will help you guide the next generation to long-lasting wealth.Who should read this book? Parents, Grandparents, Teachers, Ministers, Community Leaders, Mentors, and Young People of Working Age. Anyone that has an interest in living in a better, safer, more prosperous community. I had a conversation with a gentleman recently. He was of caucasian persuasion and practiced Orthodox Judaism. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and was a self-admitted racist. Our conversation was unique because he really wasn’t a racist; however, his experiences growing up led him not to trust and to fear people of African descent. I have been robbed at gunpoint, knifepoint, been beaten badly, and none of the culprits were white! This was his reason for being a racist. I thought it was a fair assessment. I’m sure there are plenty of Africans in America that feel the same way about their generational oppressor. The gentleman continued, When I moved here (Michigan), I realized that it wasn’t a black thing, it was a location thing. It was a situational thing. Black people here are nice, kind, and working hard to provide for their families. I guess it’s about opportunity. His comments led to us speaking about the social-economic component of why some minorities engage in criminal activity. We both agreed that if someone is hungry, and you have a steak if you don’t share, you may find yourself on the plate. My point is this: we must share this information and build our community so that our children and their children can live in a healthy environment without moving away to achieve it.GET REAL consists of four parts: -Get Your Mind Right-Get Money-Get Credit-Get RealThis four-part formula is a simple blueprint for building generational wealth. I hope that you read this material, commit to change, and share this information with as many people as possible.
