Olympic Girls was patiently built in the same underground lair - Paquin Studios at The Lab in the band’s hometown of Auckland - as their previous record Brightly Painted One. This new album was made over a drawn-out period of spontaneity and experimentation spanning a year, and stridently reaches beyond the band’s formerly minimalist domain.
