Symbioses is the fourth release by violinist Zoë Black and composer/pianist Joe Chindamo. Beginning their journey 6 years ago as masters of re-maginings of other composers’ music, this latest release sees them standing alone as unabashed champions of new contemporary music. All the music here is penned by Chindamo, who, through of a plethora of recent commissions by Australia’s leading soloists and symphony & chamber orchestras, has established himself as arguably the most exciting and unique voice in contemporary Australian composition. The duo, as particularly evidenced in this recording, is both the source and continuation of that burst of creativity.
