The much-loved Open House Melbourne Weekend is back with a 10th Anniversary bumper edition of the program.
Open House Melbourne is a public architecture organisation that empowers citizens to be active participants in the building of their city. Their annual program of talks, tours, and interviews explore issues, challenges and success stories of Melbourne’s built environment. At the heart of the program is the much-loved Open House Weekend, taking place on the 29 & 30 July in 2017, where 200 significant buildings and sites across the city are open so people can learn about how the built environment and urban planning initiatives and issues influence our culture and shape our future.
The 2017 printed program comes with 10 distinct and unique covers to celebrate the 10th Anniversary. 10 Melbourne artists have reimagined some of our most iconic buildings. Over 298 pages, packed with everything you need to plan your Open House Melbourne Weekend and make the most out of the month-long satellite program of special events.
The program also includes rare interviews with Melbourne’s seminal modernist architects and designers including Mary Featherston, Daryl Jackson, and Peter McIntyre. You’ll find a fold out map developed in partnership with the Koorie Heritage Trust, featuring a contemporary Aboriginal design and architecture walking tour.
Your program purchase supports Open House Melbourne’s status as an independent and apolitical not-for-profit organisation.
