In 2013, for the first time since 1980, Pat Metheny recorded with a band that highlighted chris potter’s tenor saxophone. At the end of an extensive world tour, the band hunkered down in a small Manhattan theatre to record new and old material as well as touchstones from Metheny’s vast catalog. the results were released on DVD last year, and now appear as an album.
