\nThe ever-prolific Nick Cave has churned out his annual release,\nthis time an epic two disc affair. Seemingly with ease, Cave has\nshifted up a gear and reportedly recorded up to ten albums’ worth\nof material in the Parisian spring. Abattoir Blues is a rollicking\naffair, lots of guitars, opening track Get Ready for Love is as\nclose to Nick Cave gospel as you’re ever going to get. Nature Boy,\nthe first single, is probably as pop as Nick Cave is ever going to\nbe. The second disc, The Lyre of Orpheus has a simpler, gentle\ntouch, rounding out this latest mammoth effort perfectly. Fresh,\nloose and interesting, the Bad Seeds post Blixa Bargeld have done a\nfantastic job. Nick, you’ve found your way again and reclaimed a\nfan.
