Las leyendas rurales formaban parte de la vida cotidiana de los denominados sectores populares. Las mismas eran consideradas naturales y las personas no se preguntaban acerca de ellas, sobre su origen o el porque de estos relatos que trataban temas diversos: transformaciones, objetos misteriosos, sucesos inexplicables, ancianos con dones especiales, etc… El presente trabajo de investigacion indaga acerca de la apropiacion de las leyendas rurales en los sectores populares en el sur de la provincia de Santa Fe (Argentina) en las primeras decadas del siglo XIX.
