When Brutus was a puppy, he loved to bark. Nothing made him happier than barking at friends, strangers, and his owners whenever they came home. Then a grouchy dog who hated barking moved in, and Brutus learned to keep quiet. In time, he lost his voice.

One day, two ducks came to swim in the pool in his backyard. He watched over them from behind the pool fence. Brutus named them Ducky and Lucky, and he became smitten with his new friends. They came every day. But when mean geese attacked Ducky, Brutus was stuck on the other side of the fence. To save his friends, he had to find his voice and fast!

This book is inspired by the real life of Brutus and these two ducks. It's about friendship, bravery, and watching over and protecting those we love.
