Dennis was a happy child who loved music and sports. Dennis followed his older brother, Duke, everywhere. He had no idea that when his brother would leave for the Marines, evil would soon come into their lives.
Duke and Sonia, Duke's Filipino wife, moved to California. They had dual citizenship so they could travel back and forth.
At age fourteen, Dennis was walking home from his guitar lessons when he heard a loud bang and felt a sharp pain in his leg. He knew he was shot and took off running. Too scared to go home, he went to his friend's house, and he had a sister who was studying to become a nurse. Sue used safety pins and medical tape to patch him up.
Dennis bought his first car at age fourteen. He took his car to a local garage where he met Mike, who became a lifelong friend who helped Dennis in his many troubles.
Dennis began working at Jewel food store, sacking groceries at sixteen. There, he met Angel, the love of his life. They would later marry and have a son. Things got crazy. Unknown Asian people were showing up trying to harm him at random places.
Dennis and Mike tried to protect Dennis's family without telling them what was going on. Dennis did not understand or know why this was happening. The death threats, people following him, and attacks went on for years. This destroyed relationships and jobs.
Not until the murder of Duke were Dennis's eyes finally open to who was responsible for the hell he lived through. It took two decades to get Duke's remains back to his hometown and the cold-blooded murder of another innocent man, another victim of the black widow.
