These set of stories are inspired from persons who appear in the Gospel, often no more than a few sentences. It imagines the drama from their encounter with a founder of a world religion at the time of the Roman Empire. An internal world is opened up, from a soldier at an execution, to a child who gives his food away, and from a madman who inflicts self harm, to a woman who is at death’s door. What surprises us more than 2000 years later is how much character, heart, and firece love is revealed in these tales.
