Maxwell Mezuwa Banda was born on 28 October, 1953 to William Chonthammaso Banda and Agnes NyaChimphepo at Kadoma in Zimbabwe (then Southern Rhodesia).
He grew up there till 1964 when the family relocated to Malawi. The story of his early life and later his contributions in ministry and service to the nation are what this book is about. His turning point (conversion) on 11 September, 1976 was pivotal and a result of God's grace to prepare him for what followed in life. This included his marriage to the wife of his lifetime, Lizzie Mtinkheni Longwe who has shared life with him for nearly half a century now. Their children have made significant contributions to the family and are carrying on the legacy after the parents' retirement from active life. Our journeys of life will remain unique as they unfold. Obstacles we encounter on the way will mean different things to different people. History and posterity will document how we overcame and triumphed, fell or withdrew. These are stories of resilience, courage, sympathy, sadness and accomplishment. This is the story of Rev Maxwell Mezuwa Banda, a story of vivid details of grace. He profiles his unique journey of life, from a young boy innocent yet inquisitive to years of naughtiness and self-discovery, conversion and submission to serving and inspiring generations. It is love and grace that propels him to strive on and in turn pour out more kindness and compassion; it is an account of resilience in the face of untold hustles.
