Women constitutes half of our population and contributes more than 60'% of world of work. Most of their work was not recognized in terms of economy but their contribution is significant in terms of reproduction and productivity. Their participation in the field of education and skilled manpower is increased in many folds. Similarly their participation in the Organized and Unorganized sector has increased leading to their significant contribution for the national development. Recognizing their role in economic development and to motivate them for their increased participation and retention in the organized sector the Maternity Benefit Scheme has been implemented. Later keeping in view of its success and relevance the programme was expanded to cover the women from all the sections of the society with different nomenclatures. In spite of this, the programme could not target all the women in to its fold. In the light of the above, the investigators made an attempts to through light on the Knowledge, Altitude and Utility of the Maternity Benefit Schemes by the women. The findings of the study has been presented in Seven Chapters i.e., Introduction, Personal profile of the Beneficiaries, Knowledge about Maternity Benefit Schemes, Attitude towards Maternity Benefit Programmes, Utility of the Maternity Benefit Schemes, Knowledge, Attitude and Utility of the Maternity Benefit Programs, Findings and Conclusions. In addition Bibliography and Research Tools was annexed. The book will be useful for the researchers, field functionaries, policy makers, administrators and academics
