Denmark has well-established labour market policies for young people with a strong focus on early intervention and activation. Job centres in the North Denmark Region are rather successful in getting job- or education-ready young people into employment or education within a reasonable time. There is, however, a group of particularly vulnerable young people who remain difficult to integrate in the labour market. This report shows that low education and mental ill-health are the main challenges. To bring down the share of young people who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET), the region will need to tackle early school leaving and invest in integrated mental health, education and employment services.
