This book is intended for education professionals interested in reflections on curriculum, pedagogical political project, duality of teaching, and citizenship training, from the perspective of a society divided into classes with references to the thinking of Antonio Gramsci. It traces the history of professional education in Brazil, develops the concepts of education in Gramsci's thinking, and adopts a concept of citizenship based on Gramscian thinking. It outlines the reform of professional education in the 2000s and presents the theory about the concepts of education and curriculum adopted at that time. Finally, it conducts a documentary analysis of a pedagogical political project of a professional school belonging to the Federal Professional Education Network, with the aim of understanding what concepts of education and citizenship are present in the lines and between the lines of the analyzed document. Among the themes that support the work are Gramsci's Unitary School, Marx and Engels' Polytechnic Education, conceptions of curriculum, the question of the duality of teaching, and the education of the working class. The work takes into account aspects of the Brazilian and global economic base.
