This book analyzes the effects on the formalization of new companies in municipalities in the state of Ceara caused by the implementation of public policies to encourage formalization, namely Complementary Law No. 123 of 2006, known as the General Law for Micro and Small Businesses, which established general rules regarding the differentiated and favorable treatment to be given to micro and small businesses within the scope of the Federal Government, the States, the Federal District, and the Municipalities, as well as Complementary Law No. 128 of 2008, which established the figure of the Individual Entrepreneur and their facilities, as well as their differentiated effects by macro-region of the State. In addition, we will seek to observe whether economic growth measured by the GDP per capita of municipalities is related to the growth of formalized enterprises.
