Although it begins like a modern fairy tale and the keywords: little boy, magic, battle of good versus evil, may suggest it is only a story meant for those who once stood abandoned at a train station, just waiting for an adventure just as magical and exciting. It is more. I recommend it for ages 14 and up-not because of explicit content, but because of its depth and complexity. Even if teenagers are usually not drawn to the adventures of an eight-year-old. But as the protagonist matures, so does the story. In short: this series is definitely written for those with expansive imaginations, boundless curiosity, and a love for books that defy predictability. Regardless of how many years under your belt. If only because after closing the last page, when the worlds have intermingled more and more, you have to read the whole story all over.
