Reading an obituary shouldn't be a cataclysmic event...

But for Veronica Bryson-Laquette, a former investigative reporter, nothing is ever as innocent as it appears. Armed with the morning edition of the Press, she tracks down her elusive husband and reconsiders investigating a fatal car accident. Even the mundane can become a travesty when one marries a psychic with phenomenal abilities, and it's too late to reverse course.

Carrying their joint creation, Veronica follows her sixth sense in one direction while the FBI lures her husband, Isaac aka Jade, in another. Repeatedly self-sabotaging her success, she remains determined to spare her unborn child from the travesties of her former profession-to no avail. Under the guise of an antique shopping spree, she navigates a series of weird coincidences in a small college town and senses her husband influencing her path from afar. Haunted by dark premonitions, either from him or their unborn child, she volleys between morning sickness and terror as she's seen her husband die once too often.

Images from the past twine with wicked visions from the future, leading Jade closer to the darkness as his precognitions expose a threat to the lives of his wife and unborn child. To save and safeguard them, he accepts the manipulations of his nemesis in the FBI. Under the pretense of assisting in the search for a serial killer dubbed "The Taxidermist," he's drawn into a game of cat and mouse with an unknown entity.

What a madman in Cleveland, Ohio, and an eighteen-year-old murder in the Nation's Capitol share, however, could bear roots in the atrocities of WWII, Nazi Germany...and the end of Jade's life as he knows it.
