Major General J. E. B. Stuart, who has been justly called "the eyes and ears of Lee." General J. E. B. Stuart played an important role in the battles of the Army of Northern Virginia. He did a great job as you will read in these pages. If fact, he also became known as the "Last Cavalier" because of his daring and dashing movements around Federal forces. Readers will also learn about some of the causes of the War Between the States and what drove Southerns to take up arms to defend home and hearth from invasion.
