The Spanish Connection

Eneko Sora, is a private detective in Liverpool whose experiences as a journalist and his Basque heritage significantly influence his present actions. He is recovering from being stabbed and beaten in a previous case. This experience has left him with physical and emotional scars, leading him to seek rest and recuperation in Spain.

Eneko inherited his apartment in Castropol from his Uncle Jesus, a Basque sympathiser. He is fluent in Basque and is familiar with Basque culture. He feels a strong connection to his Basque roots and will help those in need, especially fellow Basques like Zoriona. This loyalty extends to Sorne, his Uncle Jesus's friend, who helps him and Zoriona escape.

Eneko's personal experiences with violence and injury make him both cautious and determined in his approach to dangerous situations.

Overall, Eneko's past as a journalist and crime fighter and his personal experiences with violence have shaped him into a compassionate and resourceful individual who will stand up for what he believes in, even when it puts him in danger.

Back in Liverpool, Eneko returns to his detective work. He and his business partner, George, investigate a blackmail case involving a barrister, her secretary, and a woman named Stacey Michel. This case intersects with a wage robbery and leads them to uncover a criminal network involved in prostitution, drug trafficking, and pornography, exploiting vulnerable young girls, many of whom are orphans.
