Caregiver, you are not alone! Lean into the Lord in this phase of your life, for He never abandons His children! Called to be a caregiver for my parents at a young age, I feel compelled to share both the journey and lessons learned along the way. This book is autobiographical in nature and covers an approximately 14-year journey caring for a mother with ALS and a father with cancer. Beyond being our story, however, I believe you will find it is filled with tools to help with your caregiving experience, Bible verses to inspire and lead you, and stories with which I hope you can relate. Ultimately, the author’s desire is that you are encouraged in your caregiving experience and that hard-won information is passed along to lighten your load. The Lord strengthened me during this journey, and I pray He strengthens you as well. Two pastors also contribute to show us why we suffer and what is the ultimate way as Christians we can demonstrate care for anyone. Topics include: Building a Care Team, Advocating for your Care Receiver, Why Suffering Occurs, Using technology to your advantage, Taking care of the Caregiver, Poop (Yes, Poop), Conflict resolution, Medical Decisions, Financial Considerations, Sharing the Gospel, Death and Dying, and many others.
