Behind the Shop Counter

This funny and sometimes sad story takes us back to the mid 1980's to tell of the real people behind the shop counters of a large Ladies and Menswear Shop. Despite the vagaries of human nature, in times of trouble they are still able to put caring above competition. Cyril (80) and Gladys (70) may appear old but they are definitely not past it! Shirley, although single and childless, hides her true self behind a sharp wit and willing ear. Ben, the Company Secretary and a 'class' snob, has a demanding wife and a stubborn, moral Boss and owner, Sir, aka Mr David. Robert, the Buyer, believes he has sired six children by his latest wife but still has so much to learn about the needs of women... these are but a few of the realistic characters to be met BEHIND THE SHOP COUNTER.
