Meet Morgan, an incredibly large, black Newfoundland dog who is so big she is sometimes mistaken for a bear. Despite her intimidating size, Morgan is known for her very kind nature and is such a "silly girl" that she earned the nickname "Goofy Newfie". This big girl's life changed when she met her "Mom," who noticed Morgan's calm, smart, and goofy demeanor, as well as her tremendous love for peanut butter.

The book chronicles Morgan's path to becoming a certified Therapy Dog, a role where she provides special support, joy, and relief to people who need it. After rigorous training, which taught her commands and manners, Morgan proudly earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate at one year old. She and her Mom then passed specialized tests-in locations like stores, restaurants, and retirement homes-to become a certified Pet Therapy Team with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.

Morgan now utilizes her gentle spirit and bear-sized paws to spread love in the community, working as a Child advocate with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's therapy team and the National Newfie therapy team. Whether visiting schools where children safely share their secrets while petting her fur, or visiting sad children in the hospital, Morgan always brings smiles. She patiently sits with kids during treatments or walks them to testing rooms, helping them feel less nervous as they play with her soft fur.

Morgan's story is a dedicated celebration of certified therapy dog teams, and 10% of all book proceeds are donated to The National Newfie therapy dog team and Children's Hospital therapy dog team. Discover the fun and important work of this real dog, Morgan, whose love and goofiness make the world a better place.
