He is a member of the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America and his paintings can be found in major collections throughout the country. Under Western Skies chronicles Pummill’s entire career and offers a perspective on both Western history and the creative process of painting. The stories found in the book are the individual stories of the American West. Bob Pummill was one of the original artists whose work was featured in the Western Heritage Sale in Dallas and Houston, which quickly became one of the leading outlets for Western art. In 1984, he became a member of the premier group of Western artists in the country, the Cowboy Artists of America. He later served as president of that organization.
