From now until 31st December 2025, Bruno Leti is donating $22 from the sale of each copy of Oggetti sold through Readings to the Readings Foundation
Renowned Australian artist, Bruno Leti, has a passion for many things but his passion for books and the work of the Italian artist Giorgio Morandi comes to the fore in this beautiful monograph. Morandi is known for his still lifes of ordinary objects which confound and delight the viewer leaving them wondering how these ordinary objects could be transformed into images attracting contemplation and even veneration.
Leti describes this gorgeous little volume as his tribute to Morandi. Leti has photographed various objects that lie around his studio in Collingwood or had photographed during his travels. Unlike Morandi, Leti is an inveterate traveller. In the book the photograph of the object is presented alongside Leti's interpretation of the object. The objects range from the sentimental – a cricket ball from a friendly cricket match in St Andrews captained by the late Fred Williams – to the the tools of his craft – some printing rollers.
Oggetti includes a fascinating essay on the work of Morandi and his influence on other artists including Leti by the eminent art critic Sasha Grishen.
As we mentioned earlier, Leti has had a passion for creating books, some through established publishers and some as his own projects or collaborations. This magnificent volume, in a strictly limited edition, has been a collaboration with Readings and Leti is donating $22 from each copy sold to the Readings Foundation.
