Jan Mitchell’s book, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor… explores the life of Colin Kerby (OAM). Although 90 year old Colin Kerby now lives in Lake Macquarie City, NSW, he spent much of his life in St Kilda. After his parents relinquished the lease on the St Kilda Pier, Colin and his wife took it over, running the famous St Kilda Pier Kiosk for over 50 years (from 1939-1989).
