Book Launch: The Shut Ins

Readings State Library, Woiwurrung Country, State Library Victoria, 285-321 Russell St, Melbourne 3000, Victoria

Join Anna Snoekstra to celebrate the release of Katherine Brabon’s latest novel The Shut Ins.

The Shut Ins explores a compelling story about hikikomori, those who seek absolute isolation from society, and those who orbit them in their reclusion. It is also a profound exploration of loneliness, solitude, and that peculiar, ineffable yearning for inner or unconscious worlds; the chimeric ‘other side’ of life.

Katherine Brabon won the Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award for her debut The Memory Artist in 2016.

This event is free to attend but bookings are essential.
