Wicked Lovely: Melissa Marr

“Focus. Control. Then she felt it: warm air on her skin. A faery, its too-hot breath on her neck, sniffed her hair.” Aislinn has always followed the rules - Never stare at invisible fairies, never speak to invisible faeries, so that most importantly you never attract their attention.

Aislinn lives an ordinary life, she goes to school, hangs out with her friends, and has a crush on a really cool boy who likes her too. She also sees the fey, faeries all around us, faeries who cause trouble , who would blind you if they knew you could see them, who trick and harm and seduce humans and faeries alike. They are powerful and dangerous and Aislinn has always escaped their notice - until now. The summer king, Keenan, more beautiful, charming and dangerous than any mortal boy, has noticed Aislinn - and he wants her. Aislinn has always seen both worlds, the mortal one and the faerie realm. Which will she choose? Does she have a choice?

Wicked Lovely is a fairy tale with a twist where the damsel in distress will save herself. The consequences will echo through the next two books, Ink Exchange and Fragile Eternity. I loved this book; I read it overnight which I haven’t done since I read Twilight a couple of years ago. The next day I bought the second book Ink Exchange and I read that in a day too. Now I’m waiting for how it’s going to end. Fragile Eternity has just arrived in store this month.
