Timmy Failure Book 3: We Meet Again by Stephen Pastis

Timmy Failure fans, prepare yourselves for even more greatness! Timmy is back in this – the third book in his series. This time Timmy is hired by Angel de Manzanas Naranjas to find the Miracle report – a nature report which is so incredible that it received an A plus plus plus plus. Timmy decides that this is the sort of case that could turn his detective agency into a top notch international firm, so despite the risks he accepts the case.

We meet the usual cast of characters including Rollo Tookus, Timmy’s best friend; Molly Moskins, criminal mastermind; Total, his useless business partner; Corrina Corrina, Timmy’s arch enemy; and of course the long- suffering Principal Scrimshaw. Timmy also needs to deal with some new foes such as Scutaro Holmes, the new school mascot, and Coach Drillashick, the dreaded baseball coach. Timmy is as lovably clueless as ever and still fosters very large delusions of grandeur.

While the book is good fun and easy to read it also contains a lot of interesting and challenging vocabulary. Pastis’s word play and clever drawings certainly contribute to the charm and humour of this book. You don’t need to have read Timmy’s first two books to enjoy this third hilarious instalment. Highly recommended for boys and girls aged 8–12.
