Frankie seizes an opportunity when she finds the Order’s long-lost manual, The Disreputable History. She poses as one of the Order’s leaders, using a fake gmail address, and begins to direct their covert pranks. Everyone in school is in awe of the Order – until they realise they have been led by a girl.

This book made me think and laugh in equal parts. Frankie is witty, analytical and observant; while she’s not immune to the twin seductions of popularity and group membership, she never ignores her true feminist instincts.
