Sunday's Kitchen: Lesley Harding and Kendrah Morgan

Sunday’s Kitchen brings to life the colourful paradise of food and life at Heide, the home of John and Sunday Reed, who have become iconic figures of Melbourne’s artistic scene.

Settling on the fifteen-acre property in 1935, the Reeds transformed Heide from a run-down dairy farm into a fertile creative space for artists such as Sidney Nolan, Albert Tucker, Joy Hester and Charles Blackman.

A passionate cook and gardener, who believed in home-grown produce, seasonal cooking and a communal table, Sunday created a pastoral paradise where big ideas could be explored both on canvas, in books and across the table.

Sunday's Kitchen is a superb collection of art, photographs of the artists in their much-loved home and garden - many previously unpublished - and simple home recipes from Sunday’s personal collection.

Sunday's Kitchen is a joint publication by The Miegunyah Press, Heide Museum of Modern Art and the State Library of Victoria. A related exhibition called Sunday's Kitchen: Food and Living at Heide is currently on at Heide.
