Since discovering Mark Oliver Everett/the Eels via The Panel. I have become a huge fan. Shootenanny, like the previous four albums, again delivers a set of songs that deal with a desire to find happiness while overcoming sadness and loss.

The tunes on this new CD move the listener through a range of contrasting styles and of course emotions. This is never more evident than on the lovely 'Good Old Days' and the bleak 'Agony'.
